Doug Dieken

head-DiekenDoug Dieken has been part of the Browns for more than 35 years. He joined the STO team to bring insight and analysis to our Browns programming. The former all Big-10 tight end was the Browns 6th round draft choice in 1971. Dieken went on to become a starter in his rookie year as an offensive left tackle and holds the club record for consecutive starts (194) and games (203) during his 14 year playing career. During his playing career and since becoming one of the teams announcers in 1985, Dieken has been involved in many charities. In 1982, he received the NFL's highest humanitarian award--The Byron "Whizzerd" White Award. He also has set up the "Doug Dieken Foundation" that helps underwrite the Special Olympics. Dieken also served as a Browns captain for several years, the teams offensive MVP 75, a starter in the 1980 Pro Bowl.

Since retiring in 1984, Dieken joined the Browns radio team as a color commentator and has served in that capacity ever since. From 1985 to 1995 Dieken also worked for WEWS Channel 5, from 1999 till 2004 he worked for WJW Channel 8 and since 2004 has teamed up with fellow radio broadcast partner Jim Donovan at WKYC. Dieken is also a partner in Jackson, Dieken & Assoc., Insurance Agency with former teammate Robert Jackson. Dieken has lived in Bay Village, OH for the last 28 years and has 2 children -Spencer and Ali.
